Gracias a mi comadrita Abby por invitarme de nuevo y poder remover las telarañas de mi blog!! No he dejado de crear todo este tiempo, pero si deje de hacer posts y que mejor manera de comenzar que con esta celebración.  

Hoy les traigo esta tarjeta de calaverita de Dilo 

Mi inspiracion son los colores brillantes que se ven durante esta temporada en los altares y cementerios

Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated throughout Mexico in which we celebrate and honor those that have left before us. There is lots of traditions associated with this holiday, my favorite is the making of the Altar. You can go HERE to learn more about the making of the Altar and the symbolism behind the different items. 

For my Dia de los Muertos project I created a card using 

C U A L T Z I N

I used orange, red and black as my base colors. For some reason the red looks more orange in the pics.

I wanted Cualtzin to really stand out here so I used black embossing for the stamp and she looks great! Love all the details on this stamp!!! Dia De los Muertos Blog Hop

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS BLOG HOP

For my project I created a monochrome card with an cute little flower that my buddy Celeste so kindly made for me. I used a black and white image for the skeleton and used RECOLLECTIONS elegance pack, which has some really cute cream and black paper, perfect to add an elegant look to any project.

To get the paper to match perfectly I used the reverse to print the image on and as the mat for the skull. I inked the edges with black Tim holtz ink and added black velvet accents and a cute little ribbon I had.

This card is in honor of my little Sister Jenny:

She left us 8 years ago at the tender age of 17, but to me it seems like yesterday that we were hanging out and enjoying life together. Although she is in our thoughts daily, on Dia De Los Muertos we like to visit her grave, decorated it and remember her vibrant smile and carefree spirit and think that one day we will be able to party in heaven with her. Love you and miss you tons Sisi!

Dia de los Muertos ATC Swap

Here is my set of Dia de los Muerto ATCs. This was another swap-bot swap that I joined. For this one I have 2 different partners so I figured I make 2 different ATCs. I printed images from the internet and then "colored" them with my stickles to give them a shiny glittery look and just added accents with some very yummy Twine from The Twinery... so festive for skulls!
